LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the most widely used green building rating system, is now offering LEED Pilot Credits to building designers who spec DC Power Systems. Today, not many manufacturers produce DC Power Systems because they aren't specified in buildings’ base design plans. Designers, on the other hand, aren’t specifying DC systems because they aren’t aware of the availability of these systems and benefits. LEED aims to change this by incentivizing building designers to integrate DC Power into buildings, rewarding more credits for greater energy savings!
This turn of events is what Nextek Power Systems has been driving towards for the last decade, and a sign that these positive changes for power distribution in buildings are gaining momentum!
