First Fundamental Advance in Power delivery in 100 years
It all started with a simple observation. The world is slowly beginning to embrace renewable energy technology while quickly becoming totally dependent upon power hungry electronics.  For a scientist from the Brookhaven National Lab, these two trends spelled out the need for a better way to deliver clean energy from renewable sources straight to the grid draining computer servers and air coolers in buildings. His solution, Direct Coupling®, is based on a valuable coincidence; the kind of power generated by solar panels is direct current, and naturally clean DC power happens to be the juice of choice for lap tops, lighting, fans, server racks, and just about any electronic gadget you can think of. The Nextek Power Gateway is the widget that Direct Couples® or directly connects DC sources of power to DC consuming electronics in buildings.

Even today, with all of the hype surrounding solar and wind power, smart grids, electric vehicles, and energy security, the subject of DC power is not Twittered about the way it would be if Thomas Edison were alive and online. Edison lost that battle over one hundred years ago when Westinghouse convinced the world that alternating current, or AC power, should be the currency of our electricity delivery system. To be fair, the subject of AC power isn’t a texting topic either and that is because we live in an AC world.
