Concurrent with the product launch of the electrically active ceiling product, Armstrong joins with Nextek, Johnson Controls Inc., OSRAM Sylvania and others to form a consortium that promotes a new DC power standard for buildings. The Emerge Alliance formally launched at the US Green Building Council’s GreenBuild conference in Boston in November 2008.

AWI is the leading global manufacturer of suspended ceiling systems, producing over 1.2 billion square feet of ceilings last year. National launch of this product is planned for 2009.
