In addition to Nextek’s successful Advanced Mobile Micro grid program with the DoD’s National Automotive Center (NAC), the company has been awarded a multi-year contract to prototype Direct Coupling® power topology in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) applications through the NextEnergy Center in Detroit.

Nextek is a winner of a highly competitive grant for the DoE’s Solar Energy Grid Integration System (SEGIS) program. Work is underway now, administered by the Sandia National Lab in New Mexico.

The EMerge Alliance

Nextek joined with Armstrong World Industries, Johnson Controls, OSRAM Sylvania and others to form a consortium that promotes new DC power standards for buildings. The EMerge Alliance™ formally launched at the US Green Building Council's Greenbuild Conference in Boston in November 2008. More than 70 organizations are now members.

Nextek has designed a purpose-built Direct Coupling power supply for EMerge Alliance Standards applications that also involves new electrically active ceiling products from Armstrong. AWI is the leading global manufacturer of suspended ceiling systems. Their new products focus on suspension systems that incorporate electrical conductors to distribute low voltage DC power.

E-Three Labs is a non-profit organization devoted to providing young adults in developing communities the world-over with the skills and training that they need to create and sustain local businesses.
